IDEA DEVELOPMENT

Autobiography

My name is Michelle. I was born on the 16th of August, 2006, in Jambi, Indonesia. I am the oldest daughter in my family. I am a graduate from a private school in Indonesia. Currently, I am 17 years old and am studying abroad in an international school, Taylor’s University.

Ever since I was little, I’ve always enjoyed art. As a child, I danced and sing a lot. Then ever since I got into school, I start to grow a love for drawing, coloring, and painting. I am also fond of crafting and taking pictures. Concisely, I really enjoy capturing thoughts, feelings, or memories into an artwork. Therefore, I am now majoring in Bachelor of Design in Creative media to deepened my knowledge and broaden my experience in designing and creating art.

My love for art becomes a fuel for me to keep exploring and creating art in every form possible. My dream is to be successful in this field of my passion. Having a persistent trait to keep striving for the best, also many quality people and opportunities surrounding me boosts me to pursue my dream.

Artwork Visualization: I’d like to portray my dream and identity through a pictures of  me surrounded with sparkles, representing me who always tried the very best to keep growing and improving for a bright future.

Work statement

My work will showcase my identity and my personality as Michelle.

The concept of my work is to display my name (Michelle) and deliver what I am like to the audience through pictures of me portraying my personality.

Through my work, I want to express to the audience the bright and positive character I have as a person who tries to make the most out of everyday.

Motto: Express your true identity, and sparkle!

DESIGN DIRECTION

Figure 2.2.2 Final Poster

TITLE: IDENTITY
This poster reveals my name, identity, and personality.

The texts declares my name and my identity, as a design student.

The three images of myself expresses my personality. I played with different angles and poses to showcase my characteristics.

Composition
I placed the images in a  big, medium, and small size to give hierarchy (guide viewer’s eyes from top left - top right - center - bottom - bottom right) and prevent clutter. I placed my name in smaller size next to my big picture (following the eye’s direction). Then I added my name in a bigger size along with a a little description about my identity at the bottom center as emphasis.

I chose black as background to accentuate my figure and make it pop. I use an orangey-yellow color as the highlight color cause it expresses optimism, happiness, enthusiasm and youth which totally suits who I am now.

POST PRODUCTION - Animation

TITLE: IDENTITY

The sparkly background and the stars animation represents how we can shine by embracing and showing our true selves, our real identity and personality..

A magical and precious backsound is used to amplify and support the theme of the animation.

My message to the viewer’s through my poster is:
Express your true identity, and sparkle!

REFLECTION

This final project is a lot of fun to do since we are given a chance to freely express ourselves and our creativity in designing the work. Not only do I got to recall all the lessons and software (Adobe Photoshop & After Effect) features learnt previously, but I also got to reflect on my identity and personality. I really appreciate the meetings done by Sir Faozi as a way for us to consult. The time given to finish the project was also plenty, so we really can take our time to do our best without rushing. Overall, I enjoyed the process of creating my work for this project.
