FEEDBACK
Week 1
Live online brief on YouTube, no feedback session.
Week 2
Public holiday: International Labor Day, no feedback session.
Week 3
We did an introduction to ourselves to get to know each other. Then, we
consult about our topic for our proposal. My topic was "The Influences of
Artificial Intelligence in Human-Based UI/UX Design". My title was
"Evaluating The Usability of AI-Generated Platforms in Producing Websites
and Applications in Comparison to Human Skills". Dr. Wong said that I need
to specify my topic even more.
Week 4
- Make sure the writing style is formal, with the correct citation style.
- Try not to have the same topic as others.
- Use recent and relevant sources.
Week 5
- Fix the structure of my research topic, research question, and a few body text sentences.
- Correct in-text citation format.
- Elongate problem statement.
Week 6
- Expand the problem statement.
- Correct reference format according to APA style 7th edition.
- Separate strengths and weaknesses in critical review.
Week 7
Make sure to explain clearly why I chose mixed methodology
(quantitative: survey & qualitative: interview) and why I chose my
target audience.
Week 8
Independent learning week, no consultation.
Week 9
- Paraphrase the research title.
- Find experts to interview: https://adplist.org/
Week 10
Find necessary documents to support methodology.
Week 11
Approved to changed my qualitative method from interview into document
analysis.
Week 12
- Good for reaching more than 100 survey participants.
- Can report the results based on the feedbacks given to others:
- For quantitative data, make the charts detailed with labels of the exact number.
- For qualitative data, don't report as it is, find the themes, summarize, and paraphrase.
REFLECTION
Experience
At the beginning, from understanding this module's objectives, I was really excited because I got to do what I usually see university students do, make research studies. I really appreciate that the topic was suited to our specialization later, it made me even more excited as we got to choose our own topic based on our interest. I quite enjoyed the flow of the module, from making a proposal first, then reviewing other’s, then collecting data and reporting. However, I do feel overwhelmed and burdened by the lots of things needed to construct a research study. I am very new to it, so I need to do lots of research on my own in order to understand. But the more I searched, the more weaknesses I found in my work, that the effort to finish it felt really huge and scary.
Observations
I noticed that this module requires lots of individual initiative to find necessary information and put it to practice. Relying only on weekly personal feedback might not be enough to fully address all the revisions and improvements needed to do, as there are many of us so time is limited.
