REFLECTION
Experinces
Studying this course was pleasant overall. I had fun in every class because of the genuine and positive energy brought by the lecturer in really teaching and guiding us each week. I really appreciate how typography course always carry out its classes offline. This allows us to directly learn and receive guidance from the lecturer. I highly value the structured pace and clear information on what to do weekly through teams. I love how we are able to balance our creativity with type principals in the tasks given. I also liked how this course we are encouraged to explore and learn from other sources through the further reading we need to do in each task. Overall, I always feel exited to study this course and attend its classes for all the reason above. I truly feel supported by the lecturer and is quite satisfied with the course.
Observations
I've noticed that different results were given by students as a result of having 3 different lecturers for different sections. This made me realize how big of an impact a lecturer play in a student's life. It is impossible to give the exact same experience for students with different lecturers, but I hope balance in the teaching could always be perfected to give the most equal experience for students.
Findings
Before, I do not know much about typography. I never paid much attention to the design of texts, paragraphs, sentences, words, and even letters individually just because I was unaware of it. Through this course, I've learnt that type plays a huge role in design. Making or choosing the proper type in design could really accentuate a message and help communicate it better to the audience. This course has deepened my knowledge on typography and raised my awareness on the impacts of typography in our lives.
